Handcrafted leather desktop deco inspired by the unique 18th century Japanese traditional art form of origami.  The origami crane, Orizuru, is a symbol of health, longevity, healing and good fortune in the Japanese culture.  Often given as token of success, friendship and peace, the Orizuru is also considered the most classic pattern of this centuries-old origami art.

Full-grained, Italian vegetable tanned leather is used for the construction of the crane article and base, ensuring sufficient stiffness and foldability.  Every set of orizuru and base is hand-cut, scored, meticulously folded and hand-stitched.  Waxed threads are used to strengthen the seams and bind the leather components, and the entire piece is saddle-stitched for extended durability - a traditional and time-honoured method in fine leathercrafting.

Images shown are for reference only.  Each crane and base set is handmade and unique.  Item includes a stitch-on strap for attaching to bag.

Designed and handmade in Singapore.
