Studio Arkademie CHOCHO 18 Butterfly Leather Bag Charm
Handcrafted leather bag charm inspired by the unique Japanese traditional art form of origami. The origami butterfly, CHOCHO, is a symbol of love and marital bliss in the Japanese culture and are often given in a pair as tokens during wedding. This CHOCHO pattern is inspired by the 1950's design from the Japanese origami master Akira Yoshizawa, and is probably the most famous butterfly origami in the world.
Full-grained vegetable tanned leather from European tanneries is used for the construction of the bag charm, ensuring sufficient stiffness and foldability. Every piece is hand-cut, meticulously folded and hand-stitched. Waxed threads are used to strengthen the seams and bind the leather components, and the entire piece is saddle-stitched for extended durability - a traditional and time-honoured method in fine leathercrafting.
